How To Dispose Of Ink And Toner Cartridges
Recycling and the correct disposal of consumables are of the utmost importance in the current environment we live in.
Toner cartridges are a composite, generally made from rigid plastic and ink, which should not be disposed of as general waste, but instead, sent back to the manufacturer for appropriate recycling.
The recycling process enables parts and materials from the empty cartridge to be re-utilised in the production of new cartridges, ensuring a closed-loop system that minimises the use of raw materials.
Most toner cartridges manufacturers provide a take-back scheme for the empties, where you can mail your empty ink cartridges back to them. It is important to check each manufacturer’s terms and conditions for the services, as they differ from one to another.
Canon Cartridge Recycling Programme
Canon is committed to a no waste to landfill policy. Each element of every returned toner cartridge is reused or recycled – be it as a component in a new toner cartridge, as a base material in other industries, or as a substitute for fossil fuels. No part of the toner cartridge is sent to landfills.
Canon offers a free recycling programme for genuine Canon toner and inkjet cartridges, where you complete the ‘Return Form’ to request free post return labels, boxes or envelopes. Click here to learn more and to request yours.
